Our mission is to close the communication gap during flood emergencies by providing a reliable, affordable, and scalable system that enables real-time flood detection, immediate alerts, and life-saving two-way communication between victims and rescuers.
Floods are one of Malaysia’s most devastating natural disasters, destroying homes, displacing families, and claiming lives every year.
While current systems provide early warnings, they rely heavily on one-way communication.
Victims receive alerts, but when disaster strikes, there’s often no way for them to respond, call for help, or share their location, especially when mobile networks go down or power is lost.
Emergency services are overwhelmed, and without accurate, on-the-ground information, rescue efforts are delayed or misdirected.
The result? Precious time is lost and with it, lives.
That’s why we created FMAS.
"To restore two-way communication in flood emergencies, provide live situational awareness, and enable faster, more targeted rescue."
Our Solution
A discreet, solar-powered bollard that monitors rising water levels in real-time.
A centralised web dashboard that tracks sensor data and victim locations.
A portable, waterproof beacon for households to receive flood alerts and send SOS signals with GPS data.
Key Features:
Live Sensor Readings: Continuously updated water level measurements from field-deployed sensors.
Automated Alerts: Real-time status changes and flood alerts triggered when critical thresholds are exceeded.
Location Mapping: An interactive map showing the positions of all sensors and SOS beacons, aiding in situational awareness.
Cloud Integration: Reliable data transmission and storage via LoRa and Firebase, ensuring accessibility even during unstable network conditions.
How it Works
The Flood Detection Sensor (FDS) is installed near rivers, drains, or flood-prone areas.
It continuously monitors water levels using ultrasonic sensing.
When a flood risk is detected, it flashes red and transmits data wirelessly to the central system.
The Flood Monitoring System (FMS) collects live data from all sensors and updates a central dashboard.
At the same time, it sends flood alerts to every household equipped with an SOS Locator Beacon (SLB).
The beacon flashes and beeps to warn residents, giving them time to prepare or evacuate.
In critical situations, the resident presses the SOS button on the SLB.
This sends their exact GPS location directly to the FMS dashboard.
Rescuers are notified immediately, and can locate the victim without delay, enabling faster, targeted response.
